"Parting Thoughts" from The Grapes Of Wrath
1940. As Henry Fonda as Tom Joad prepares to leave the shantytown for participating in a union strike that continues what his friend, Casey, sacrificed his life for, looking on on a sleeping Russell Simpson as Pa Joad, he talks to his mother, Jane Darwell as Ma Joad about what he plans on doing and what his thoughts are on circumstances. If I have taken anything from this movie, it is that Tom Joad's struggle is no different from the Occupy movement's struggle, in the striving for the recognition of the working and middle class as valuable to the society at large, and that he would be marching with them and continue to do so until changes get made to better circumstances for all Americans.
