When Tim Kelleher finished high school in New York City, he went on to study with the Society of Jesus. But instead of becoming a Jesuit priest when he finished, he took a very different career path. He went on to study acting, and soon after that founded his own theater troupe, called the Colony. The troupe staged mostly original plays, several of which were written by Kelleher, and gave him crucial acting experience. After landing a role in a production outside the Colony group, he was able to get an agent and from there he made the decision to go to Hollywood. His first role was in a low-budget, forgettable horror sequel, "The Understudy: Graveyard Shift II," in 1988. He persevered however, and before long he had become a successful character actor with parts in major motion pictures and television series. He appeared in the Ridley Scott-directed crime drama "Black Rain," which starred Michael Douglas, in 1989; Spike Lee's production of "Malcolm X" in 1992; and Christopher Nolan's mega-hit sci-fi drama, "Inception," in 2010, to name just a few. He has also appeared in television programs like the paranormal drama "Dark Skies," the sci-fi spinoff "Star Trek: Voyager," and the political drama "The...
