Born in 1956, Anthony Mason was a United States television presenter, journalist and correspondent, widely known for hosting and co-hosting programs on CBS News. Born in New York City, Mason attended the tony St. George's School in Middletown, Rhode Island. After graduation, Mason attended Georgetown University, where he majored in English. Mason's first job in the news sector was with KJRH-TV in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He later worked in Philadelphia before relocating to New York City. Mason joined the CBS News team in 1986, serving as the bureau's London Correspondent and later as Chief Moscow Correspondent. In 1998 Mason was made the bureau' business correspondent, and in 2012 Mason was named co-anchor of "CBS This Morning Saturday" (CBS, 2012-). On June 19 2017, Mason became the interim anchor of the CBS Evening News, replacing Scott Pelley who had held the position for the previous six years. Mason married Christina Anne Unhoch, and the couple had a daughter and a son together. Mason was previously married to advice columnist Amy Dickinson from 1986 to 1990; the relationship yielded a daughter.
