Hugh Masekela brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Masekela worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "A Dry White Season" (1989) starring Donald Sutherland, "Graceland: The African Concert" (Showtime, 1986-87) and "Jewel of the Nile" with Michael Douglas (1985). He also contributed to "Monterey Pop" with Janis Joplin (1969), "Musicians in Exile" (1990) and "Voices of Sarafina!" (1989). In the nineties and the early 2000s, Masekela devoted his time to various credits, such as "Sarafina!" (1992), "Mandela" (1997) starring Nelson Mandela and "The Wild Thornberrys Movie" (2002) starring Lacey Chabert. Masekela's music was also featured in "The Last King of Scotland" (2006) with Forest Whitaker, the Anthony Hopkins period drama "Bobby" (2006) and the biopic drama "Talk to Me" (2007) with Don Cheadle. Masekela's music was most recently used in the dramedy "Small Time" (2014) with Christopher Meloni.
