Actor Lars Mikkelsen was widely known for his presence on the silver screen. In 1995, he made his TV debut in the Danish TV movie "Mappen." In 1995, he starred in "Dracula" at the Aalborg Theater in Copenhagen." In 2007, he earned international acclaim as Troels Hartmann on the Scandinavian crime drama "The Killing." Mikkelsen's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as "Kira's Reason: A Love Story" (2003), the foreign "King's Game" (2004) with Anders Wodskou Berthelsen and "Nordkraft" (2005). He also appeared in the Sonja Richter mystery thriller "Cecilie" (2007) and "De Fortabte Sjaeles O" (2007) with Anders Wodskou Berthelsen. He kept working in film throughout the early 2000s and the 2010s, starring in the dramatic adaptation "What No One Knows" (2008) with Maria Bonnevie, "Flugten" (2009) and "Headhunter" (2009). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Sherlock" (PBS, 2010-). He also lent his voice to the animated feature "Ronal the Barbarian" (2011) with Brigitte Nielsen.
