Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

Experimental filmmaker whose many 16mm shorts make innovative and unusual use of special optical effects. Among O'Neill's better known films are "Saugus Series" (1974, 19 mins) and "Let's Make a Sandwich" (1982, 20 mins), the title of which refers to part of the optical printing process. Perhaps uniquely among contemporary avant-garde filmmakers, O'Neill has also applied his talents to several Hollywood features.
