He worked in television in his early acting career as well, including a part on "Scotland Yard" (ABC, 1957-58). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the fifties and the sixties, appearing in "A Night to Remember" (1958) with Kenneth More, the Diana Dors crime adaptation "Tread Softly Stranger" (1958) and the adventure "Son of Robin Hood" (1959) with June Laverick. He also appeared in the drama "The Angry Silence" (1960) with Richard Attenborough and "Francis of Assisi" (1961). Nearing the end of his career, he tackled roles in the Maria Schell crime feature "The Mark" (1961), "H.M.S. Defiant" (1962) with Alec Guinness and the Robert Mitchum dramatic adaptation "The Man in the Middle" (1964). He also appeared in "It!" (1967) with Roddy McDowall.
