Debra Stein held several Senior Vice President and Vice President of worldwide marketing and public relations titles at several Los Angeles based Independent finance, production and distribution companies including LIVE Entertainment; Vision International and Epic productions and for their Columbia Pictures based joint venture with Michael Douglas, The Stone Group; along with serving as Vice President of Worldwide Communications at M.C.E.G/Virgin, who’s principal clients were John Travolta, Sandra Bernhard, Ellen Degeneres and director Nicholas Roeg. M.C.E.G. produced films included Tri Star’s hit trilogy of “Look Who’s Talking” films. Stein also headed her own marketing and public relations consulting firm. Projects during her career included the marketing campaign for “Zalman King’s Red Shoe Diaries,” which at the time was Showtime’s highest rated original series. At LIVE she was responsible for the home entertainment releases of “Terminator” and “Terminator 2 Judgment Day, “ and for the home entertainment releases of the pre-Disney Miramax titles. Stein began her career as a publicist in New York; handling a variety of projects including the unit publicity for Oscar nominated independent, “Anna.” Stein also worked as a publicist for Arista Records where she spearheaded the 1987 tour and publicity for The Grateful Dead’s only top 10 album release, “In the Dark.” and “Whitney,” from Whitney Houston. Stein started her career as a publicist for ABC’s flagship radio station in New York, WPLJ. Her most recent position in Los Angeles was held at Morgan Creek Productions, housed at Warner Bros, where she held the position of Vice President of Special Projects. Stein is a graduate of Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts.
