Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

Although Amy Steel worked regularly through the 1980s and '90s in both film and television roles, the Pennsylvania native never received the breakout role that would have brought her stardom. Steel began modeling as a teenager, moving into acting in the late 1970s. Early stints on the popular soap operas "All My Children" and "Guiding Light" led to what would become her best-known role, as Ginny Field, the sole survivor of a massacre in the 1981 horror smash "Friday the 13th Part 2." Steel was then cast as Pam Elliott in a recurring role on "The Powers of Matthew Star," immediately followed by a part on "For Love and Honor" in 1983. She returned to horror three years later with "April Fool's Day," and later co-starred with Vanessa Redgrave in the TV-movie remake of the classic "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" She worked throughout the '90s in guest-starring roles on television series, and also appeared in the holiday film "A Time to Remember" in 2003.
