She had a cameo in "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane" (1990), which traded on her MTV face value and co-starred and "Beastmaster 2: Through the Portals of Time" (1991). On TV, Wuhrer went from the cable TV series "Swampthing" (1989) to hosting MTV's "Remote Control" game show to becoming a veejay all within about a year. Her veejay status helped Wuhrer begin to get parts in Hollywood, first in an episode of "Married...With Children" (1991), and then as femme fatale Robin Farr on the short-lived Fox drama series "Class of '96" (1993). She was also a college student in her first significant dramatic TV role, as she fell for her professor (Eric Roberts) in HBO's "Sensation" (1994). In "Terminal Justice" (HBO, 1996), she was a sensuous star used as a model for a virtual reality clone and continued in the sci-fi genre in 1997 when she joined the cast of "Sliders" (Fox; Sci-Fi Channel, 1995-98).

Notes
"I needed someone who is strong, not a shrinking violet, and physical. ... I also needed someone who is sexy. She is all those things." --Director Tom Holland on casting Wuhrer in "Stephen King's 'Thinner'" quoted in People, November 11, 1996. "I think people have a hard time defining me because I've a hard time defining me, So I've fallen into that B-class category of 'chick with fake boobs who sort of can act.' Which is great for B-movies, but it became too easy, and I stayed there because it was safe. I've been given great opportunities...but I've sold myself short, so other people have too. It's not an insult to be thought of as a B-actress, but I'm tired of that now, I'm bored with it. It doesn't feel like who I really am. So I got rid of the boobs and I'm getting myself together to annihilate the image I've created through fear. I just want the stakes to be higher. I'm ready for that. - Wuhrer to the Los Angeles Times, July 18, 2002
