Though Peter Elkoff is relatively new to television, having gotten his start penning episodes of the Canadian sci-fi series "First Wave" in 1999, he has already earned a solid reputation as a writer/producer by taking on daring TV dramas. His first risky undertaking was 2004's "North Shore," a Hawaii-set drama Elkoff himself created. Sadly, the series proved short-lived. Undeterred, he fearlessly tried his hand at filmmaking, writing and producing the collegiate drama "The Education of Charlie Banks." This risk paid off when the film won the Best Made In NY Narrative honor at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival. Since then, Elkoff has built his reputation by serving as writer and producer on a string of TV dramas, including the short-lived, high concept series "Six Degrees," and the scandalous family saga "Dirty Sexy Money." Having established his reputation as a talented multi-tasker, Elkoff was asked to join the crew of the wildly popular and highly acclaimed "Ugly Betty," a TV dramedy that is based on the Columbian telenovela "Yo soy Betty, la fea." After a year on the series, Elkoff walked away to write and produce on the new hospital drama "Mercy," which centered on an Iraq War veteran who struggles...
