Ludwig Donath was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Donath started his acting career landing roles in such films as the Anna May Wong drama "Lady From Chungking" (1942), the William Gargan mystery "Enemy Agents Meet Ellery Queen" (1942) and "The Strange Death of Adolf Hitler" (1943). He also appeared in the action flick "Tampico" (1944) with Edward G Robinson, "Counter-Attack" (1945) and "The Jolson Story" (1946). He kept working in film throughout the forties, starring in "Cigarette Girl" (1947), the thriller "To the Ends of the Earth" (1948) with Dick Powell and "Sealed Verdict" (1948). He also appeared in the biopic "Jolson Sings Again" (1949) with Larry Parks. Nearing the end of his career, he continued to act in the Humphrey Bogart dramatic adventure "Sirocco" (1951), the Richard Widmark dramatic comedy "My Pal Gus" (1952) and the Victor Mature historical love story "The Veils of Bagdad" (1953). He also appeared in "The Spy in the Green Hat" (1966) with Robert Vaughn. Donath more recently acted in the Paul Newman spy picture "Torn Curtain" (1966). Donath passed away in September 1967 at the age of 67.
