Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

Austrian actress Birgit Minichmayr has worked with many of Europe's most revered filmmakers, primarily in German productions. After years of acting on the stage, she transitioned to film and TV, notably landing a supporting part in István Szabó's 2001 period piece "Taking Sides." Minichmayr furthered her reputation with a role in the Hitler biopic "Downfall" and a small but memorable part in Tom Tykwer's literary adaptation "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer." In 2009, she won awards and acclaim for her lead turn in the intimate drama "Everyone Else," and the same year she also appeared in Michael Haneke's lauded film "The White Ribbon."
