Died: February 20, 1962 Los Angeles, CA
A prominent member of the Russian film industry, Ermolieff produced over two hundred films in Europe before coming to the U.S. in 1937. Referred to as the ‘Father of Russian Cinema,’ at twenty two he operated a studio in Moscow and during the revolution of 1917, escaped to France. Married to writer Vera Gaylord, Ermolieff died of a cerebral hemorrhage.
