Blessed with a similarly pleasing smile as his brother James Garner, actor Jack Garner has been a familiar face on television since the late '60s, appearing in numerous series starring his more famous sibling. He started out with recurring parts in action series, but also acted in "Daniel Boone," which led to to his being cast in other Westerns. (Interestingly, one of those parts was in 1971's "Wild Rovers," directed by Blake Edwards, who would later cast Jack's brother James in one of his best known film roles in "Victor Victoria.") Around this time, he also appeared in the drama "Medical Center," playing various physicians between 1969 and 1972, adding to a versatility that would come in handy throughout his career. During the early 1970s, he was a guest star in his brother's Western-themed series, "Nichols," and popped up frequently in James's more successful detective show "The Rockford Files." One of the characters he played was Police Captain McEnroe, whom he reprised for several "Rockford Files" television movies during the '90s. He was also a regular in James's 1980s series "Bret Maverick," often sharing friendly banter with the title character as Jack the Bartender. Garner retired in 1999,...
