I also saw it on late night television. A very unique and wonderful movie!! I wish they could put it on DVD.

  • Show this film it deserves better.

Underrated film that slipped through the cracks. I first saw it cut to pieces on a late night movie venue but I never forgot it. Always hoped it would be available to see again. Amazed that it didn't obtain some type of film cult status. Stacey Keach's "Fields of Ambrosia" send off to those about to be executed is something to behold. Maybe someday it will be raised from the dead zone.

  • Make This Movie Available on DVD !!

Like everyone else, I first saw this movie in 1971 and have waited 38 years to obtain it either on VCR or DVD but to no avail. It is a gritty, well acted movie about a turn of the century executioner who travels with his own electric chair and generator. Stacy Keach gives one of his best performances as a man who tragically falls for a condemned female inmate only to end up in his own electric chair to be executed by his assistant, Bud Cort. It is well written, acted, and has a great sound track. It is a classic that should not be lost to time. If it is made available on DVD, it would truly send me to the "Fields of Ambrosia"

  • Very funny, and touching

This offbeat comedy, and heartwarming tale is a unique style for most, and is lovely to watch; creative plot. Although the music is a little annoying at times, you won't want to miss out on this film.

  • ONE of Stacey Keach Finest

I saw this movie many years ago and it was really great. It had a fantastic plot and I love Stacey Keach in the lead role. I'm surprise that the movie hasn't been put on VCR or DVD. It is a SLEEPER that I think most movie viewers would really appreciate.Zee929
