Don Siegel seems to be remembered today only for his work with Clint Eastwood, and that's a shame, as he left a nice body of work, and this is a prime example. TELEFON is one of Bronson's best starring roles, and it's one with a good script by Stirling Silliphant and Peter Hyams that VASTLY improves on the book, which is a waste of ink and paper. Bronson and Remick, which don't appear to be a good team at first thought, have excellent chemistry. And Pleasance as always makes a superb baddie. The plot is fascinating, and the way it all is wrapped up is unusual for an espionage thriller. No explosions, no assassinations, no nuclear strikes. Kind of nice nowadays.Just a good thriller, and one not to be missed.

Absolutely outstanding movie. I love Tynne Daly in this. Hoping it will be on DVD soon.
