crack in the world
- garry baker
I was 11 years old when I first see the movie at the theater. I love the movie, it make since what would happen, when you tamper with nature. It still a great movie, maybe there might be newer update of this movie. Still I rate the crack in the world 4.8 out 5.
CRACK IN THE WORLD
Back in the late 60's and early 70's there was a show on late night t v called Science Fiction Theater. It showed great films like Crack In The World.Of all the oldies that were shown I really only remember this one. Dana Andrews and Jennette Scott were both great performers in a story that was very entertaining. For its time it was well done, with miniatures instead of computer generated images, and holds the viewers attention to the very end. I loved the train wreck scene and the birth of the new moon. A must-see for any true sci-fi fans.
Good popcorn movie
This movie is an entertaining Sci-Fi "B" movie. Dana Andrews is the big name in this movie (one his "pays the bills" flicks). While the special effects aren't bad (it is a 1965 film) I would prefer Hollywood do films like this for remakes rather than the classic films they've been screwing up over the last few years.Anyway, grab the popcorn and enjoy this movie some boring weekend afternoon. It's worth the time.
Great end of thr world
I have seen alot of end of the world movies and movies about looking for energy. This movie shows how crazy people can get looking for new ways to produce energy and with things the way they are now, it may not be to far off. For it's time it may have been over the top, but now it fits.
where has 'crack in the world' gone?
i used to see this movie on AMC before they changed their programming. i miss seeing this movie. it is one of my all time favorites.
Filling for the Sci-fi buff
I recorded Crack in the World along with When Worlds Collide at about the same time on VHS. I found WWC on DVD and instantly bought it. I was saddened to find out that Crack in the World was not available on DVD. A few years later when I purchased a DVD recorder I made a copy but would still like to buy the DVD. I like well made Sci-fi movies no matter when they were made. Todays movies somtimes rely on fancy special effects and include useless outside plot points that have nothing to do with the story. Crack in the World is one of my favorites because of the powerful charecters, story and acting.
