  • Wish TCM would broadcast this!

I love this movie, and wish TCM would broadcast it for others to enjoy. Curt Jurgens was wonderful as the "no-longer-in-demand" broadway star who retired to his horse farm in Connecticut. And talk about sex-appeal! Wow, as a woman in my 40's, I think his portrayal in this movie was a real gem! I cannot find it on DVD anywhere, which is a shame. Perhaps TCM can finally bring it back on the air.

  • Really fun and funny movie made from a play....

I watch this one again and again. Anytime I feel alone, or sick, or just down-hearted. The script is funny all the way through, it is classic Debbie Reynolds, and I loved Curt Jergens - maybe because he really was such an improbable love-interest of Janet's. Very good fifties fun. I wish it were on DVD.

Enjoyable romantic comedy is nothing much out of the ordinary. Debbie Reynolds is typically energetic but it's Estelle Winwood that steal every scene. Overall it's good. Kurt Jurgens is miscast.
