  • This garden has a lot of weeds

    While Ronald Colman's performance as the thief with a heart of gold is superb, the story itself is hard to get into. The sets are drab and the supporting performances weak, with too many strange characters that aren't really needed. For a better film with Colman as the reformed criminal, watch Raffles (1930); and for a better bittersweet ending to a romance, see "The Prisoner of Zenda."
